For this home, I was the agent for the buyer. I worked with this buyer about 10 years ago and helped her sell a condo in Santa Clara as her seller’s agent.

This sale was a Christmas miracle…lol! She called me on Christmas Eve. I actually thought she was calling to wish a Merry Christmas or something else not real estate related. I was pleasantly surprised when she told me that she wanted to buy a condo in Mountain View that her brother just happened to walk by during his visit to see her from out of state. She told me that she wasn’t even seriously looking to buy a home, but her brother walked by this new community and thought it would be perfect for her, and she agreed!

The sales office was actually closed during the holiday season, but he happened to go the day before they closed, and the sales rep helped us through the Christmas to New Year time frame during her vacation time so that the buyer could move forward and get the home locked in before the sales office opened again after the New Year. The rep met with us the Saturday after Christmas when the office was technically closed.

The transaction itself was quite seamless. The buyer was really impressed by the sales rep, the rep who meets to walk through the home and explain all of the components, the title office, and really most of the team involved. It was a good experience with this community.

Typically in a new community, the price is the price, and there is VERY little negotiation with the builder. Although, we were able to get a FREE washer and dryer, and also negotiate a 1% credit towards the closing costs. So, there was some give from the builder for this home.
